Presidents Report 2006/2007 Season -
Presented at the 5th AGM 8 August 2007
Club Overview
The 2006/2007 Season has been a very fulfilling year for the Club,
and I’m very proud and privileged to be a part of the growth it for
two main reasons, club Environment and Profile.
1. Club Profile
The accomplishment of our Swimmers over the year has raised the
profile of the Club enormously during the season, with some great
individual efforts, but more importantly some fantastic team
accomplishments.
-
The Club won the State’s “Top
Achieving Club Award” for having 65 swimmers in total
consistently improving personal performances and club
representation over the season.
-
The Club took 1st in the State’s
“Premier Club Division 3” which should place us up into 2nd
Division for the new season. A great milestone for a club 4yrs
old.
-
We had 4 Club representatives to
Australian Age Championships all doing personal best times, and
taking home a tally 6 Medals
-
18 Swimmers Completed successful
at the Qld Titles all doing Personal Best’s and many taking home
the spoils.
-
The Club had great representation
and success at the Brisbane Metro Championships, Primary & State
School Championships, GPS , and winning our 2nd inaugural
Interclub carnival was a great highlight not just the success of
our swimmers, but the accolades for the other Clubs on how well
and professional our carnival was run.
“Through Persistence will come
Success”. Our success above proves this statement of our Coach Mark
Lorrimer, he is the pivotal factor, our glue which keeps the Faith
of the Parents and Desire of our Swimmers together
I personal wish thank Mark for keeping my faith as President
throughout the year, and the Club’s successful season was his as
well.
2. Club Environment
We have always remained viable and have purchased equipment and
services astutely for the swimmers.
The Club has finished its fourth season and the Committee this year
was focused on getting its infrastructure in place to enable the
Club to grow and successfully run and operate swimming carnivals.
The “Donga”, club office which was installed early in the season is
a testament to how efficiently we can now run Club Nights and
Carnivals. Our electronic timing has a stable environment to run,
record and post every club-nite, and with the purchase of a new
computer we can now post directly to our latest website.
The website is our latest commitment to the growth of our Club, and
the Committee is very proud to present this site to the members. As
the Club grows it will become our main communication portal for all
Swimmers, Parents, and Coaches. We see the website to be the
keystone of the clubs future and hence underpin our vision as a
young club to improve and maintain a fun supportive swimming
environment for all our swimmers.
Our Club environment is healthy and ready to kick off the new
season. The foundations are in place for a truly successful and fun
swimming club so I urge all Parents to support one another and this
will shine through the Club and our Swimmers.
So, I hope to see you all in the new season.
Regards

Coach's
Message

Our coaching team at East Brisbane gives our swimmers the chance to
gain all the benefits of squad training and race experience in a
safe and caring atmosphere. We train all year round with a high
swimmer/coach ratio.
Our sessions promote: physical fitness, sportsmanship, competition,
respect and friendship. Our goal is to see each swimmer reach their
full potential in and out of the pool through good communication
between coach, parent and swimmer.
All parents are welcome to watch training sessions and support all
our swimmers through the highs and lows of competition and training.
Any coaching situations no matter how small it may seem please don’t
hesitate to call me on 38966301 or 0408702227.
